Simon Cooper

Prior to qualifying as a solicitor in 2002, Simon read law at the University of Nottingham and completed the Legal Practice Course at the Nottingham Law School. He trained as a solicitor in London and initially practised in general commercial litigation in the City before leaving for the West Country in 2003.

Simon worked as a criminal practitioner at Nunn Rickard Solicitor Advocates in Exeter before joining Butler and Co. in 2007, becoming a partner in April 2008. Simon qualified as a Higher Court Advocate in 2007 and is able to represent clients in all types of proceedings and in all courts. He is a member of the Taunton and Bridgwater criminal duty solicitor schemes. He regularly represents clients in the Magistrates', Crown and County Courts and before Mental Health Review Tribunals.

Simon is also a member of the Solicitors Association of Higher Court Advocates, Lawyers for Liberty and Amnesty International.
